Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro ![]() Kilimanjaro comprises of three peaks that include the Shira Peak at 3,962 meters high that collapsed close to one million years back in time, the Mawenzi Peak at 5,149 meters high and then the Uhuru Peak at 5,985 meters high. Mount Kibo is the volcanic section of the mountain and is not only the highest but the steepest as well. Biggest party days in Tanzania are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Locals prefer to party on Sundays. There are also many events going on during the weekdays. Bars are usually never closed. Besides that there are also many clubs in Dar Es Salaam where they are playing pop music and local pop music. With some of the local songs they have their own dances. Mishkaki is the Tanzanian version of skewered meat – street style shish kebabs. The meat, usually beef or chicken, is first marinated in some spices and I think a bit of tomato sauce (depending on the recipe of course), cooked on a bed of hot coals, and served with hot chili and lime juice.
